De Quarvain's Teinosynovitis and Guitar Playing (My experience)

De Quarvain's disease is a stenosing tenosynovitis of the abductor pollicis longus and the extensor pollicis brevis tendons at the styloid process of the radius. The etiology remains uncertain but may be related to friction between the tendons, their fibrous sheath, and the underlying bony groove caused by movement of the thumb and wrist. The resulting inflammation causes thickening and stenosis (narrowing) of the synovial sheath of the first compartment of the extensor retinaculum (dorsal carpal ligament.
This video is a reflection of my experience in dealing with this condition.
Although I've worked in the medical field most of my life (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) and in Education (Instructor at St. Louis Community College), I am not a physician and I don't play one on television either. This is my disclaimer. Always consult your physician when dealing with medical issues.
I just wanted to share my experience.
