London Tramlink in Croydon

Today we are in Croydon, which is a major town in south London. Croydon operates a tram network, which links Wimbledon in the west with Beckenham, Elmers End, and New Addington in the east. The network only began operating fairly recently in 2000 and it uses two types of trams: 24 Flexity Swift CR4000 vehicles, built by Bombardier, and an additional 12 Stadler Variobahn vehicles, which are actually very similar to the ones used in Bergen, Norway.

In the centre of Croydon, trams follow a loop, connecting George street with West Croydon and East Croydon railway stations. This film mostly follows this tram loop on a dismal and drizzly winter afternoon.

Enjoy!
