Monitor Lizard VS Snake

It's rare to see two reptiles fighting! An African Rock Python got the better of an African Monitor Lizard in Namibia, near the Kunene River, in this video. You never know what the outcome will be when snakes and lizards are invited to the same party. Fights between monitor lizards and snakes can go either way. I think I said that already. Anyhow, it all depends on what type of snake is involved and how big or dangerous the monitor lizard is. In this video, a Malayan monitor lizard is about to taste victory over the snake. In this video, a venomous cobra leaves its lair, drawn to the scent of hatching crocodile eggs. When it comes upon the nest, the cobra discovers another predator is already on the scene. A monitor lizard got there first, and he isn’t going to give an inch to the snake without a fight. It’s “finders keepers” in the lizard’s mind, even though the snake is venomous. The lizard and the cobra size each other up and try to intimidate one another by increasing their size. The cobra is poised to strike, and with that, the monitor lizard retreats, but not before taking a swing at the snake with its tail.

Now, the cobra has the egg dinner all to itself, only the shells are empty, and the monitor lizard has the last laugh. In this video, after spotting a venomous rattlesnake, a monitor lizard crushes its head, and slowly swallows the snake in front of the camera, showing off his killer instincts. Meet Australia's biggest and hardest lizard, weighing roughly 33 pounds and measuring more than nine feet in length. The Perenti is the lizard king, a fearsome apex predator with which few creatures dare to collide. This huge male is a well-known desert stalker, and he's on the prowl for prey. He encounters a freshly fed Mulga snake. It's one of the world's most venomous snakes, posing a serious hazard to most reptiles. The Perenti, on the other hand, is adamant. The snake isn't a threat to him because he's too huge, and Perenti's have developed a resistance to snake venom because of eons of co-evolution. So, the mulga snake is in peril, and the Perenti does not hesitate to intervene. This is a substantial meal that will give this unscrupulous predator the energy to pursue his next prey.

Monitor Lizard VS Lion

Lions aren’t often seen attacking monitor lizards, so when these eight sub-adults spot one in the grass, they’re not sure how to handle the situation. They want to get closer, but they are spooked by the reptile. When two young lions approach a monitor lizard, one of the felines is slapped in the face by the reptile, startling the big cat and making him reconsider his little enterprise. A monitor lizard ignorantly walks into a pride of 18 lions that are 'unfamiliar' with this animal and are not sure what to do with it.

Big cats are instinctively afraid of reptiles and are cautious, but surely, one of the 18 lions will snatch it and run off. Maybe not… A few younger lions spot a reptile and decide to drag themselves and their distended bellies over for a closer look. One youngster gets a little too brave and gets a slap in the face for his troubles, at which time they decide to cut their losses and head back to the comfort of their tree, while the lizard carries on its merry way.
