I know firsthand how painful it is to lose a home. As a kid growing up in a working class household, my family and I moved ten times by the time I was 12 - and we were evicted multiple times.
That experience is why I made sure the City’s COVID-19 eviction moratorium would be the strongest in the nation and last well beyond the end of our local emergency order. I was proud to lead on this with former Councilmember Herb Wesson and Council President Nury Martinez.
