HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES TO RECEIVE FREE WATER AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY KITS

LOS ANGELES - City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell is partnering on a program to distribute water and energy efficiency kits to local residents in the great 13th District over the next several weekends.

The Water Watch program is a collaboration between the office of Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), and teen volunteers with Anahuak Youth Sports Association. The kits will include a LED bulb and a showerhead aerator.

LADWP received a federal grant from the Department of Energy for $1 million dollars. Part of the grant money was used to survey six thousand residents in the 13th District, and $45,000 is being used to promote energy and water conservation through the distribution of the Water Watch kits.
