Hey, everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2024 Ford Bronco, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Demco Stay-In-Play DUO supplemental braking system with the Wireless CoachLink monitor. But before we do that, let's take a minute, we'll check this out, and make sure it's gonna be the right setup for you. Right off the bat, I do want to address one of the main questions that we get asked when it comes to setting up a flat tow, and that's, "What parts am I gonna need" So there's a total of five major components. You'll have your base plate, your tow bar, your safety cables, your tow bar wiring, as well as your supplemental braking system. What a supplemental braking system is gonna do is apply the brakes in your Bronco whenever you hit the brakes in your motorhome.
And that's gonna help bring you to a more safe and predictable stop. You know, it's gonna shorten overall distance of your stops. And you're not gonna have to rely on just your coach to do all the braking. Not to mention too, these are required in pretty much all the states now. So I definitely wanna abide by that and it's a safety thing too, you know It's smart to use something like this.
Now, with that in mind, this is a more permanent-type system. It's gonna stay with the vehicle for the most part. So once it's installed, it's super easy to set up when you are ready to get going down the road. And hands down one of my favorite systems. I'd probably put at least 100 or maybe more of these Stay-IN-Plays in all different types of vehicles.
Super reliable and they just flat out work. With that in mind though, these are designed for those of you that have motorhomes that have the regular hydraulic brakes. If you happen to have a large coach with air brakes, then I'd highly recommend checking out the Demco Air Force One. A lot of similarities to the DUO, extremely reliable, but just, you know, specifically designed for those big coaches with air brakes, it's getting pretty popular for late model vehicles to do away with the vacuum-assisted brakes, right Like the Bronco, ours has an electric-assist brake, all right And the Stay-IN-Play compensates for that, right, by setting us up. It is gonna be compatible if you do have the electric-assisted brakes.
So nothing to sweat there. I talked about how easy this is gonna be once it's all installed and you're ready to flat tow behind your motorhome. Really all you're gonna have to do is turn the system on. There's a controller that I have mounted down here, and you just turn the switch to the on position. When you're done towing, turn it to the off position. One of the benefits to the Stay-IN-Play is also the fact that it almost acts like a proportional-type system, or very similar, meaning however hard you hit the brake in the motorhome, the break in the Bronco is going to act very similar, right Almost matching that pressure. So more or less what that means, you know, you're just gonna have a more cohesive and predictable stop. The fact that if you're halfway on the break in the coach, Bronco's gonna do about the same thing. Or if you slam it all the way down, it's going to pretty much do the same thing, you know So what that me means, it's just gonna give you a more comfortable breaking experience. The fact that the Bronco's not gonna be kind of dragging the coach back, or, you know, pushing into the back of it when you make those stops. This kit does come with the Wireless CoachLink monitor, which is this here. And what this is gonna do, whenever you're driving and, you know, hitting the brakes and the brakes and the Bronco come on, this is going to tell you kinda what's going on back there. So when the brake pedal's applied, this will illuminate red, letting you know that the pedal is indeed getting pulled down and everything's working like it should. Something that'll be on the front of your vehicle is this piece. It's a breakaway switch. And pretty standard for just about any braking system out there. It's just a safety device. It's connected to its tether, which goes to the hitch on your motorhome. And in the event of an unlikely disconnect, this pin would get pulled out, that would apply the brakes in the Bronco, helping to get things back under control. Other than that, at the end of the day, a reliable br
