Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, on our 2025 GMC Sierra 1500, we're gonna be taking a look and installing the Leer Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover. Now, adding a tonneau cover to any truck is a really nice addition because anything that you store in the back, you're gonna keep that nice and protected. And, also, when you have a tailgate that can lock, it really makes it to where you now have a safe storage spot to keep all of your stuff. And especially with a hard top, no one's gonna be able to just cut through that and reach in there like you might with some of those soft tonneau covers. Now this one also really allows you to be able to fold this up as much as you need. And that way if you have just a few 2x4s sticking out, you can just fold it back a little bit and you can also fold it all the way up without it resting against the cab.

Now the first thing that you may notice is the low-profile design. It doesn't stick up but maybe about an inch, inch and a half. So you get a nice, clean look overall. And the reinforced panels, super solid here, but also textured, which is nice. It's gonna hold up to any chips or scratches.

A lot of times these textured edges really just kind of blend that all in. And as far as weight capacity, not that you're really gonna be storing anything up top on this, but it can hold up to 450 pounds evenly distributed. So it's lightweight, yet extremely strong. Now what's really cool with this system is gonna be this CYNC system that it uses to snap everything down. So we have a seal here by our tailgate that's gonna keep water out of there.

And when you are ready to fold it up, whether it be just a few sections or the whole thing, you're just gonna reach under and there's gonna be these pinch tabs. Now, if I do it on one side, it's also gonna release it on the other, so you can be on either side of the truck, and you can see here what that looks like. It's just gonna snap into the rails. And, also, it's perfectly designed for the Chevy truck like we have here. We're able to use this stake pocket to mount that up, and we have really nice hardware overall on the rest of them.

So as we fold this back, you're gonna see we have that snap at the end. There isn't one here, but you can fold this back one more. Being a well-designed system, that snap not only holds it in place to this one, but, when not in use, you can put it into this upper part. It's gonna keep that there and keep it from dangling and catching onto things as you load it up. Now to continue on, again, we have that CYNC system here. I just pinch that, and then we can fold this up. And folded up here, you'll see that we have storage for our arms. Our prop rods here will just pop on, and that way if we are going down the road and we need this all the way up, this is gonna keep this in place and still have a nice gap between the cab and the tonneau cover so it's not making any contact. That's really nice because some of the other ones just kind of fold back and, unfortunately, it's gonna hit along a painted edge here so this will keep your truck looking really nice. And what's nice, too, on the prop rod, it's got a release here, so a lot of times you'll have to really pry these off or pull off the pin. This, you just push this tab back and that easily comes out, you can store it on this clip, and then you're ready to fold it back down. Now throughout the whole process of installation it's really nice. All the hardware's really great. All the brackets are super simple. It uses a nice, little notched-out area, and then a channel to tighten it all down. A lot of tonneau covers with the rail systems, they can be a real pain to adjust. This one was super simple. And I really like the matte black powder coat finish on the rail, it matches the plastic almost perfectly. So it looks like an OEM-style tonneau cover, but you get all the benefits of a nice aftermarket. And Leer Leer's been around for a long time making tonneau covers and truck accessories, and I gotta say, they nailed this one.
