Ambush in Idaho: Firefighters Shot Responding to Blaze

Two US firefighters have been killed, and a third badly injured, in what officials describe as a “total ambush” in Idaho.

The attack began on Sunday afternoon after emergency crews responded to a wildfire on Canfield Mountain near Coeur d'Alene.

Authorities say a man, acting alone, intentionally started the fire and then opened fire on first responders.

The gunman used sniper fire, shooting at both firefighters and police.
