Massive Police Hunt For Epping Migrant Accidentally Released From Prison

Believed to be Hadush Kebatu, the man seen in this video appears to be wearing prison clothes and carrying a clear plastic bag in Chelmsford town centre on Friday afternoon.

A manhunt is underway to find the Ethiopian national who was mistakenly released from Chelmsford Prison, just weeks after being jailed for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and a woman in Essex.

Kebatu was sentenced to a year in prison and was meant to be transferred to an immigration detention centre ahead of deportation.

But Essex Police confirmed the asylum seeker was accidentally freed, and was seen boarding a train at Chelmsford station to London at 12:41pm yesterday.
