Zelensky Denied Tomahawk Missile Deal in Whitehouse Talks with Trump

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has left Whitehouse talks without securing Tomahawk missiles he wanted to help in Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

The Ukrainian president wanted the weapons to strike at Russian oil and energy facilities, which he believes would seriously weaken Putin’s war economy.

Trump did not completely rule out selling the missiles to Ukraine, but he maintained a non-committal attitude, hoping to end the war without the weapons.

Trump also warned of the dangers of Tomahawks, wanting to avoid further escalation, whilst also wanting to keep the weapons for America.

After the meeting, Zelensky refused to answer questions on long-range missiles to avoid escalation, but he put his trust in Trump.

After the meeting, Trump took to social media to urge both sides to stop the war.

Following a phone call with Putin, trump said he and Putin had agreed to meet for talks in Hungary, but a date is yet to be set.
