Learning a language when you're a perfectionist (real talk on some things I've been struggling with)

Today I thought I'd talk to you guys about learning a language when you're a perfectionist, and some of the things within that that I've been struggling with recently. Feel free to let me know any thoughts you have in the comments below!

Is this what the intermediate plateau feels like?! 😅

Here's a breakdown of the video anyways:
00:00 intro
01:01 realising silly mistakes made in convos immediately afterwards
01:31 realising mistakes in emails, texts, etc. immediately after making them
02:20 using a translator with the most basic phrases "just to check"
03:03 having so many words to learn and not knowing which to prioritise!!
05:07 questioning whether everything you say is an idiom (so doesn't make sense in another language) or not
05:45 worryingly forgetting some of the basics
07:57 speaking more slowly so as not to make mistakes but people getting impatient with you as a result
08:57 (with German) accidentally coming across as too harsh when trying to pronounce things clearly
09:48 outro

If you enjoyed this video I'd love it so much if you gave me a thumbs up and subscribed - it helps me out a lot and also means that you won't miss out on my future content! ✨

🌿 Who am I?
Hello! My name's Sarah and I'm a 22-year-old undergrad student, originally from London, but moved to Nottingham where I spent most of my teenage years, and now I'm in my third year studying (mainly) German and Italian at the University of Bath! I'm currently on my 'year abroad' in which I'm doing an internship in a small business in Italy before (hopefully) studying at university in Berlin, Germany next semester. On this channel I'm currently documenting my experience with all of this in a pandemic, as well as occasional other stuff on things I'm interested in, such as minimalism. If you like what you see, then please stick around!
