Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, discusses the sacroiliac joint. He explains how the joint is a common area for low back pain. The sacroiliac joint also has very little movement in comparison to a joint such as the shoulder.
Often, the sacroiliac joint can lose it's normal motion and become tight and "locked up". Stretching is often times not effective when this happens.
Dr. Joe demonstrates several simple techniques for releasing the sacroiliac joint at home. These techniques are easy to do and often provide relief to a tight sacroiliac joint.
Give these release techniques a try. If minor tightness becomes more severe, or pain develops, consult your doctor or therapist.
