Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, demonstrates fascial release techniques and exercises for the supraspinatus muscle.
The supraspinatus muscle is one of the four rotator cuff muscles of the shoulder. It is the most commonly injured rotator cuff muscle due to its small size, anatomic location, build up of fascial adhesions and frequent weakness.
Dr. Joe demonstrates how to perform fascial release work on the supraspinatus in order to break up fascial adhesions and bring a tremendous amount of blood flow into the tissue.
Exercising the supraspinatus requires very low resistance/light weight and high repetitions. Dr. Joe demonstrates his favorite supraspinatus exercise in this video. Keeping the supraspinatus strong will definitely help prevent injury.
