STUNNING DRIVE! - Sunrise over Northern #ROMANIA - Siret - Balcauti - December 2022 - 🇷🇴

Driving back from Siret at the border with Ukraine, after a speedy trip into Ukraine to pick up the Jeep from my mate Max. The Jeep blew a small metal water pipe a couple of weeks earlier in #Kyiv and Ieft it there until I found a part in Greece. So returned to meet Max at the border and drove him back to Chernivsti about 40kms into Ukraine, to catch the train back to Kyiv.

I then overnighted in the 'Frontier Hotel' at Siret before driving back to Bucharest the next morning. Just quickly guys, if you are coming from #Ukraine or going to Ukraine via Siret, my recommendation is do not stay at the Frontier Hotel! It calls itself 4 Star and is well overpriced, is old and tired and because it is the only hotel at the border it gets good traffic and has lost sight of the product. My recommendation is to stay in Radauti which is only 20kms from the border. You get a nice little town with shops and amenities and restaurants etc and best of all much cheaper and superior accommodation. I stayed in a place called the 'Nordic Twins' on Calea Bucovinei, and it was a gem and was really surprised. Place was very new, great fittings, super clean with a mini bar that actually had items in it!! Fabulous restaurant onsite and a whole range of business facilities etc as well. Main thing though, far cheaper. So that's my tip guys, stay away from the Frontier Hotel, simply not 4 Star and not worth it.

That said, look at the beautiful sunrise heading South East back toward Bucharest in the fresh winter morning. Superb view across the valley.
