PCT day 24 - 18.5 miles Pacific Crest Trail Slept like a rock last night, shoutout to the Deep Creek Hot Springs for that sweet muscle recovery. Unfortunately, the good vibes didn’t last long. Today was one of those days I wouldn’t mind forgetting.

The trail climbed forever out of the Deep Creek drainage, carved into the side of the canyon like the PCT loves to do. Sure, the views were awesome, but the tilted trail meant nonstop friction on my poor, shredded blister. Eventually I just said screw it and slammed my toes to the front of my shoe to keep the pressure off.

After the canyon grind, we aimed for Lake Arrowhead. After crossing the dam and climbing up and over a ridge, we finally saw it, big, blue, and beautiful. Walked a few miles along the shore, then found a picnic area with tables and pit toilets (pure luxury out here).

We heard camping wasn’t exactly allowed, so we waited for the sun to dip before laying out our bags and cowboy camping. It was chilly and windy, but the sunset was epic and the stars made it all worth it.
