Independent little elephant, Khanyisa opens the orphanage gate and heads out to see her herd

This morning adventure starts with orphans, Timisa and Kumbura waiting around outside the orphanage for Khanyisa to join them, while a very clever little Khanyisa opens the gate in the garden of the orphanage to let herself out. She takes in a few foraged and provided leafy treats and just isn't having it when Carer Herman and Adine try to guide her back to the orphanage.

The human herd inside the orphanage kitchen are still preparing Khanyisa's milk bottle backpack for the day but Khanyisa has other things on her mind. She is given bana grass pieces lovingly, by ever-calm Herman, and eventually the pair head out to meet up with a welcoming committee of eager giants, Timisa and Pisa (Tokwe's daughter).

Kumbura is quick to join in on the bana grass party too and then Jabulani. Khanyisa has a special moment with allomother Bubi, touching the female elephant's teat with her trunk gently, before the herd head out together.
