Texas man builds homemade train to take rescue dogs on adventures

A US man has created a homemade dog train to take rescue stray dogs for adventurous rides around the neighbourhood.

Texas brothers Eugene and Corky Bostick have had a host of locals bring them unwanted dogs, so the pair began to adopt and care for them.

"People sometimes come by and dump dogs out here, leaving them to starve. We started feeding them, letting them in, taking them to the vet. We made a place for them to live,” Eugene told animal lovers website The Dodo.

The 80-year-old started with a tractor which he put four or five dogs on to take them for a ride.
“I seen this guy with a tractor who attached these carts to pull rocks. I thought, ‘Dang, that would do for a dog train’,” he said.

“I’m a pretty good welder, so I took these plastic barrels with holes cut in them, and put wheels under them and tied them together.”

Mr Bostick has been helping rescue dogs for many years and has now become a train conductor for the rescued strays.

“Whenever they hear me hooking the tractor up to it, man, they get so excited,” he said.
