Boy George TO BE REBORN (A Capella Version)

George's final single from his first solo album, capping off a rather spectacular comeback year in Europe following his troubles that led to the dissolution of Culture Club. Although the album failed to take off in the Americas or Asia, he had a sold out European tour, 4 chart singles including a #1, and a very high exposure appearance at that year's Montreux Pop Festival, broadcast worldwide. The record label released in on more formats than usual, (hopefully giving it a better chance at the Christmas #1 spot), but despite the standard 7", 12", Limited edition 7" in gatefold sleeve, and cassette single, it did not happen. Perhaps it was the lack of any mixes or non-album material. It was also the first single George ever released on the CD-Single format, which also was issued in a gatefold sleeve, and it was the b-side in Japan to "Live My Life".
Prior to the album's release, George said in an interview that "Sold" would have the last song he ever wrote about Jon Moss. Although he never stated which song that WAS, many fans felt "To Be Reborn" was it.
This a capella version really showcases the talent and emotion in George's vocal; I wish he would perform this song more often in concert, the one and only time I've ever seen him do it brought me to tears.
