The Reflex (Acoustic-ish Mix) DURAN DURAN

This is one of the biggest songs of 1984, and one of the last released from the original line-up. They released one live album after this single, with an all-new single (The Wild Boys) included, a James Bond theme (View To A Kill) and then went their separate ways with members doing solo projects (Andy Taylor) and forming no fewer than TWO all-new bands: Arcadia and The Power Station.
I've always loved this song, trying to make sense of it's lyrics, marveling in the samples and stutters, and it's one of the first 12" singles I ever owned. With this version, I wanted to strip it down to just the basics- perhaps hearing it as it might have been written in the original sessions. This is only the vocals, guitar, drum & bass- the basic rock-n-roll combo line-up- showcasing a decidedly different sound than heard the original.
