Replacing a French Drain Sump Pump - Part 2

his video series shows how I replaced our French Drain Sump Pump. It took a week to order a replacement, so I had to install a temporary pump in the meantime to get the water out of the drain to keep water from getting under the house.

Part 1 covers analyzing the problem, removing the old pump and figuring out how to connect the temporary pump to the PVC discharge pipe of the old pump so it will send water to the curb.

Part 2 covers installing a temporary pump and getting started emptying our French Drain of water.

Part 3 covers the specs of the temporary pump and working on keeping water from leaking back into the sump from the temporary connection to the discharge pipe.

Part 4 covers installing the permanent replacement pump (took a week to get a new one) including getting it to work after problems with it straight out of the box (i.e. it wouldn't pump!) and checking it the next morning to see how it did overnight.

It has about 50% of the gallons per minute of the Little Giant Pump and says it's not designed for permanent installation.
