Building the fastest scooters in Texas (Part 1)

Scooter 911 is building two scooters for competition in the Texas Mini Grand Prix for the 2023 season. In Europe and Asia scooter racing is widespread with championships like the Polini Italian Cup and the PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship.

Garret's retired racing scooter was built from a Genuine Buddy 125 and is referred to as the fastest scooter in Texas. It earned that title because in 3 seasons of racing it was never beat by another scooter. The weight bias to the rear of the scooter made it an absolute monster on the brakes. The stock buddy 125 engine required very little modification to make it competitive against Honda Groms, Kawasaki Z125 Pros, Honda XR100's etc. However, this bike was not super successful on the track due to it's poor left-hand cornering. This reduced clearance to the transmission case was caused by the Buddy 125's 10" wheels.

Garret's new racing scooter is a 2016 Adly Bullseye known as the "Radly". The Bullseye features 12 inch mag wheels which should allow fabulous cornering on both the left and right side of the scooter. The Radly's engine is a 50cc horizontal minarelli which is one of the most common engines to uprgrade in the scooter world.

Keiffer's racing scooter is a 2016 Genuine Roughhouse Sport. The Roughhouse features 12" mag wheels and comes from the factory with upgraded front suspension, an adjustable rear shock, and a huge front brake rotor. The Roughhouse also features a 50cc horizontal minarelli engine, so building this bike into an absolute ripper wont be too difficult at all!
