Strawberry Shortcakes | Updated

The last of the updated Summer Shorts. Easier to make than to buy. Never use those strange, yellow spongecake thingies with the divot for your strawberry shortcakes again. These shortcakes take about 15 minutes total to put together.

Strawberry Shortcakes
1 pound sliced strawberries
½ cup sugar, more or less to taste or
Strawberry Dessert Topping (video here https://youtu.be/vKNLf-VEK8Y )

Mix together. Allow the sweetened strawberries to stand in the fridge to macerate for at least 1 hour.

Shortcakes
2⅓ cups Bisquick
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup butter, melted and cooled slightly
⅔ cup milk

Preheat oven to 425°F, 220°C. Mix all ingredients together. Spoon ¼ cup shortcakes onto parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the tops just start to brown. Serve warm with sweetened strawberries.
