RAT ROD culture: unusual tuning of classic American cars

Rat rodding is one of the most extreme and unusual car cultures in the USA. It has many critics and haters but if done correctly and with the right approach, such low-buck & home-built classic cars attract the attention for all car lowers.

Experts describe a rat rod, as a classic car, restored almost in the same fashion as first hot rods in the 1940s, 1950s, and early-1960s. Many these cars look unfinished and rusted out but this is the main beauty of such cars, as car enthusiasts say that only vehicle's bare essentials are enough to make a car drive.

Just like in the old days, rat rodders, apart from using the period-correct components for their cars, try to make them unique by using primitive but very effective visual tuning (sometimes even using scrap details or repurposing parts from old rusted out machinery).

Even if these cars don’t seem to be very visually appealing and environmentally friendly, they still have many fans across the globe.
