10 Most Unusual People with Unique Talents

What comes to your mind when you hear the word “talent”? – maybe the best actor, top football players, athletes, among other personalities who can be said to be the best in their fields. The list is endless.
Basically, you’ll be thinking of all the common things you’ve seen people amass worldwide applause from. But as it turns, not all talents are that common. Some are unique to just a few people.
In today’s video, we bring 10 people with some of the rarest talents in the world.
Have a look.
#10 Dean Karnazes
Have you ever participated in a marathon? Or forget that, you’ve at least been a run.
You know the feeling – your lungs seem to be on the urge of bursting and, at some point, your muscles can’t go on. That’s how when you need a rest. Were it not for this, you could run forever and only stop when you wish to.
And that’s the privilege enjoyed by Dean Karnazes, a US ultramarathon runner, and author. He can run for as long as he wishes without experiencing the usual fatigue that comes with it. His running career started when he was in kindergarten when he always ran home from school as part of his fun activities.
By 11, he had achieved so much in way of endurance than most people in their entire lives. He had climbed Mount Whitney and hiked across the Grand Canyon.
When he joined high school, he once again demonstrated his rare ability by doing a whopping 105 laps which is equivalent to a full marathon. Other students could only do about 10 to 15 laps.
Away from his school years, Dean has run a continuous 80 hours and 44 minutes. He covered over 560 kilometers. Additionally, he has completed over 50 marathons in 50 states for 50 consecutive dates.
#9 Alexander Overwijk
Ever tried drawing any geometrical shape freehand? If you have, then you know that it’s impossible to come up with straight enough edges and smooth curves.
For curves, scientists have even done extensive research as to why we cannot draw that perfect circle freehand. According to one such study, the parts of our brain responsible for drawing circles and perfection are separate and as such, it’s a tall order for them to work together for those smooth curves.
But for Alexander Overwijk, a Canadian math professor, it appears as though these two parts have found a middle ground. The professor is known for his ability to draw perfect circles freehand. In fact, he's been referred to as the world freehand circle drawing champion.
This is a rare feat considering drawing a curve of any length is a big struggle for most if not all people.
#8 SM
At least everyone is or has been afraid of something. Fear is part of our survival as a species. It is what compels us to avoid things we perceive as a danger lest we come to harm.
But for one woman codenamed SM, this important survival aspect is missing. She has no idea what being afraid means and would gladly walk into potential trouble like, for instance, towards one of the big cats.
She was a subject of studies a while back in which she watched some of the scariest horror movies without being startled and even touched a snake’s tongue.
It wasn’t always like that though.
According to the woman, she was once afraid of darkness as a young girl but this ability to be afraid waned as she hit the adolescent stage. At one time, she was walking through a park at night when she was confronted by a knife-wielding attacker.
Everyone would have been scared stiff here. But she wasn’t. In a rather calm manner, she told the man that he would have to go through her guardian angel first which was enough to ward off the attacker.
According to experts, SM suffers from a rare disease that has destroyed her amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for fear.
#7 Natalya Demkina
How would you feel if you were able to view the insides of people with your bare eyes? Disgusted? Fascinated?
While the rest of us can only imagine, Natalya Demkina lives it. She can see beyond the skin covering right into internal tissues and organs. Born in Mordovia, Russia, Natalya has been doing her thing since the age of 10 going as far as assisting medical personnel in making diagnoses in some cases.
Her mother was the first test subject. She recounts suddenly starting to see the organs inside her mother and even describing them. From that point, the news of her abilities started to spread and she soon ended up at a children’s hospital.
There, she drew a doctor’s stomach and indicated the exact point an ulcer was located.
She has had a fair share of tours in countries across the world demonstrating her rare ability. She’s been to Tokyo, Japan, the United Kingdom, and New York City in the United States.
