Regal and poised, horses have always been a part of the human history. Right from their early use by
the Asian nomads, they have continued to be very close and faithful companions to humans.
Horses have been known to be one of the oldest beasts of burdens, and have been famous for many
activities. They have been used for centuries as a means of transportation, and to till and cultivate
fields. They even helped man in their battles, and yes, how would we forget…they are the stars of
the famous equestrian performance sport of horse racing.
Over the years however, industrialization has brought about a reduction in the use of horses for
some of these activities. For example, nowadays it might be a strange and unexpected sight to see
someone ride a horse on a busy street. However, in spite of their many replacements, horses are still
very important to us.
Even though horses have more or less the same features, they come in different breeds. Some
breeds are so rare that they are becoming endangered. We have some organizations working hard
to ensure that these breeds are kept alive. Big thumbs up to them!
We present to you ten horse breeds you will not believe exist. Get ready to be wowed.
