Preparing for winter cold. Wood Stove chimney cleaning and covering the roof of the tiny cabin

Unseasonably warm weather has once again arrived at the weekend homestead. I knew that my luck was not going to continue to hold and that winter would eventually arrive. I had previously tried to cover the roof of the tiny cabin bunkhouse but the cold made the tar paper too brittle.
I wasted no time in getting that task checked off the list while the opportunity existed. It feels so good to know that come winter snow or spring rain, the roof is now protected from the elements until I can cover it with metal.
Another chore that was on the list was cleaning the wood stove chimney. I've been spending more time at the off grid cabin this year and burning much more wood. Even though it's been a very mild winter the wood pile is disappearing rapidly. At least I know that there will be no more danger of a wood stove chimney fire.
The bunkhouse is mostly covered in house wrap and the windows cut out. It's starting to look like a little cabin!
