RECORD-BREAKING FINE: Westpac settles AUSTRAC case for $1.3B
Westpac has agreed to pay a record-breaking $1.3 billion penalty for breaching anti-money laundering laws and for failing to stop child exploitation payments.
The fine is now the largest in Australian corporate history.
Westpac has released a statement apologising for the banks failings and committing to fixing the issues and ensuring they do not happen again.
