This is one of our most beautiful travel days yet, it felt like we had arrived in paradise!
After an incredible few days in Isla Mujeres, we headed on to Cancun, then to Isla Holbox. After catching 2 ferries, 2 taxis (one car, one golf cart), and a bus, we finally arrived in Holbox! This is an island on the far north side of the state of Quintana Roo. The island is relatively car free, with the main source of transportation being cars and bikes (both of which we took advantage of!) We spent the afternoon lounging around on the beach at our hotel - La Palapa, which we did an entire tour of, so make sure to subscribe to see that video! The beach here is shallow, crystal clear, and turquoise blue, all great things when talking about a beach! There are multiple sandbars out in the water, so you're able to sit pretty far out. For dinner, we tried out Casa Nostra, which is our number 1 recommendation if you're coming to Isla Holbox! It's mediterranean-inspired dishes that are very seafood heavy. We had the best ceviche of our lives before heading back to our hotel to watch the sunset from the beach!

Tips:
- prebook buses with clickbus.com if you only have an American credit card
- book beachfront accommodation if you'll be spending most of your time at the beach
- eat all the fresh fruit you can while in Mexico!

We were kind of confused on how to get to Isla Holbox from Cancun or Isla Mujeres at first, so here's a breakdown:
- From Cancun: Catch the bus (ADO is what we used!) to Chiquila, pre-purchase ferry tickets on the bus (they're roundtrip), catch the ferry to Holbox!
From Isla Mujeres: Ferry from Isla Mujeres to Cancun, taxi to the downtown bus station, bus to Chiquila, ferry to Holbox!
