Training to run a sub 3-hour marathon (FROM OVERWEIGHT)
How to start training for a marathon if you're overweight. In this video, I'm going to share the first few phases of my new training plan to eventually get me to my goal of running a sub 3-hour marathon in 2023.
The first 20-week phase is all about my building a strong aerobic training base to build my running endurance with lots of low heart rate training and easy running. From there I'll be focusing on improving my 5k time (working on speed) for 16-weeks, which will take me up to the end of 2021. In spring 2022 my main focus will be to complete a 16-week marathon training block with the goal of running a sub 3:10 marathon in the spring.
