How-to Overclock A Computer for Huge Speed Gains

Overclocking my Intel Q6600 CPU from 2.4 GHZ to 3.4 GHZ! Note I do not consider myself an expert in this field but I have been overclocking my computers for years. To do it right you have to have the right stuff:
1. A Motherboard that supports overclocking
2. A CPU that supports overclocking
3. Proper cooling.
4. Preferably a guide to what is possible with your combination of Mobo, CPU, and cooling equipment.

I run this computer at 2.8 GHZ, it's only a mild 400 MHZ overclock, but it never crashes no matter how much I stress it. I could run it on 3.4 GHZ but if I do something really intensive like video rendering, the computer crashes.
