EKTA: Healing the Heart

Yorkshire-based Carnatic vocalist and veena player Ramya Tangirala looks forward to presenting her musical collaboration with Jazz musician Paul Wilkinson on the piano.
Through this cultural exchange they will explore all that is common between the two music traditions they will bring on stage and celebrate all that is unique, creating music that touches hearts and minds.
This event is part of Leeds International Concert Season’s lunchtime concerts. All events in this series are free to attend, with a pay-as-you-feel retiring collection at concerts for those who feel able to contribute.

South Asian Arts-uk (SAA-uk) is a registered charity that was set up in 1997 by Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE to preserve the art of South Asian classical music and dance. The organisation was designed to pass down its love of the South Asian arts to the next generations through performances, community events and a complex education programme.
