Republicans ‘embraced’ garbage meme after Joe Biden ‘fumbled and stumbled’

Author Douglas Murray has applauded the Republicans for embracing the garbage “meme” after President Joe Biden made the controversial comment about Donald Trump supporters.

President Biden was criticised after he referred to Trump supporters as “garbage” during an interview.

Following the comment, Mr Trump showed up to a rally in the passenger seat of a garbage truck.

“It’s this idea that you can kind of whip people into line, you can shame people into voting for your candidate and not voting for the other guy and I just don’t think it works anymore,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“You saw that with the big embrace of the garbage meme by Republicans, including Donald Trump, from the moment that Biden fumbled and stumbled out with it.”
