040623 OAKHURST MURDER SUICIDE

On April 6, 2023, at about 4:15 PM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a welfare check in the 25200 block of Oakhurst in the Rayford Forest Subdivision, just off I-45 and Rayford. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered two people deceased inside the home. Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene and are investigating.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Maria Olvera and 55-year-old Paul Bailiff.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated; therefore, no further details are available at this time.
Investigators say this appears to be an isolated event and there is no threat to the public. Law enforcement is not searching for a suspect. They would not confirm if it was a murder/suicide situation and were very short of any additional details.
