Cyndi Lauper released her 3rd solo album "A Night To Remember" in 1989, amid problems with the record company's executives, who tried to tame this great and brilliant artist, but failed, thankfully, and amid the separation from her partner at the time, and businessman, David Wolff.
It's no surprise that the album is filled with romantic, sad and beautiful ballads.
A Night To Remember marked an era of changes in Cyndi's life and, perhaps for this reason, for some time she preferred to forget about this work, despite having sold a lot around the world, in Brazil it reached first place in the chart of the now extinct Revista Bizz, the most renowned at the time in the country.
Luckily Cyndi decided to rescue the album, a favorite of many fans, and eventually a track made it into the set list of her shows, in addition to the obligatory hit "I Drove All Night", the most successful single from A Night To Remember, which yielded , including a Grammy nomination.

Heading West is a beautiful ballad, which talks about the end of a relationship, where the feeling was not reciprocated, and the feelings of sadness, relief and freedom that this moment brings.

Cyndi Lauper lançou seu 3º álbum solo "A Night To Remember" em 1989, em meio a problemas com os executivos da gravadora, que tentaram domar essa grande e genial artista, mas não conseguiram, ainda bem, e em meio a separação de seu companheiro na época, e empresário, David Wolff.
Não é à toa que o álbum é recheado de baladas românticas, tristes e lindas.
A Night To Remember marcou uma era de mudanças na vida de Cyndi e, talvez por isso, por algum tempo ela preferiu esquecer desse trabalho, apesar de ter vendido muito mundo a fora, no Brasil chegou ao primeiro lugar na parada da extinta Revista Bizz, a mais conceituada da época no país.
Por sorte Cyndi resolveu resgatar o álbum, o favorito de muitos fãs, e eventualmente alguma faixa entra no set list de seus shows, além do hit obrigatório "I Drove All Night", o single de maior sucesso de A Night To Remember, que rendeu, inclusive, uma indicação ao Grammy.
