Hit and Run Survivor Races Towards Paralympics
Peter Cowan is a busy guy. He is a father of two young boys and the primary caregiver in his house. He is also a champion outrigger canoeist, who has his eyes on making the final of his event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Peter lost a leg in a hit and run accident when he was a teenager but discovered that he was a gifted paddler. He has a mantra ‘trust in the mahi (work)’, as the way he will succeed. He and his coach try to balance Peter’s responsibilities at home with a training regime that will give him the best chance of achieving his dream of stepping on to the podium in Paris 2024.
