First easy sourdough bread
As I am very often asked how to start making bread with sourdough, I will show you how to make your first sourdough bread, explaining in detail the what, the how and the why of every step of the sourdough bread making.
Learn how to read the dough, learn lots of techniques used in bread making (like window test, finger test), learn how to autolyse, how to knead in a simple way the dough, learn how to stretch and fold, how to shape and how to bake bread.
If you do not have a starter, I have the method described on my blog at http://www.hungryshots.com/2014/07/white-sourdough-starter.html .
This recipe is based on a very easy to remember formula, called 1:2:3. The author of this formula described it here: https://makanaibio.com/2008/10/123-pain-au-levain-une-formule-qui.html?cn-reloaded=1
The recipe is simple:
- 150g sourdough starter
- 300g water
- 450g white wheat strong flour
- 9g salt
