Glacier_Bay_Flight.wmv

Flight over Glacier Bay, Alaska. The flight started and ended in Haines. We ascended over the Chilkat mountains and flew over the vast ice sheet with a magical view of towering pinnacles stretching into the distant wilderness. We then followed one of the glaciers down into the bay before ascending over a different glacier to return to Haines.

This was in September 2003. There was evidence of considerable retreat of the glaciers then. I bet there is a lot less ice there now.
