Boreraig and Suisnish

The ruined coastal villages of Suisnish and Boreraig on Skye are a reminder of the Clearances. The circular walk taking in both villages is just over 10 miles and takes you to a very remote part of the coast far from the nearest road. The scenery is breathtaking and the villages themselves are very moving. The ruined church at the end of the clip is Cill Chriosd, where the walk starts and ends. This church went into decline from around 1840, shortly before the clearance with the building of a new church in nearby Broadford.
