Here we'll look at how you can set up a new general ledger account in MYOB for a fixed asset. A fixed asset is something like a vehicle, a piece of machinery or some furniture. In MYOB you will first go to the Accounts module of the command centre and then Accounts List. The Accounts List is the home of the general ledger. And here is where MYOB allows you to set up all of the account types such as assets, liabilities, equity, income and expense. But this video will be focusing on setting up a new fixed asset account along with the accumulated depreciation account. We will also look at some of the GL account viewing settings in MYOB, as in how the P&L and Balance Sheet reports look in MYOB and the general formatting of where the various accounts are displayed in the report.
