This is #Obor Market in #Bucharest or Piata Agricola Obor. It is one of the biggest fresh produce markets in the city, spanning several blocks.

Obor has a distinct market and produce hall, with all vegetables, fruit and nuts etc on the ground floor, huge area of just beautiful fresh produce. Upstairs is a whole floor of meats and dairy, cheese and some tea and coffee shops. Rates are higher inside, so you also have a very large outdoor produce area under tents, very popular. My tip, don't go to the first good looking stall, walk around, get a good idea of everything there and then make a choice. Another tip, look for the lines of people waiting in front of stalls, normally an indicator the produce is better and priced well.

Across from the produce hall is the Halele Obor building or the shopping halls section of the market, this is mainly clothes and shoes, bags etc and also more meat and fish. Quite a few places to eat as well, just good cheap street food.

As you will see in the start of the video though, most people who come to Obor will stop at Terasa Obor which is famous for its mici. Its been on TV, in the news, in shows and advertisements and they just pump out the mici. People will queue for an hour to eat there and the line is often huge. I think I have waited about 30 mins once. Its a simple recipe but so good, mici with home made mustard, bread rolls and a cold beer. I had that at 0930 lol. That's the sign I'm converting to a true Romanian! I am being honest when I say, its just such a good combination any time of day.

So drop into Obor, try Terasa Obor, grab a few mici and a cold beer, sit and listen to the music and watch the activity going by at the market.

Obor is located at Gmaps plus code, C4XJ+W5 Bucharest. It is well serviced by its own Metro Station called Obor, a huge tram stop Bucur Obor on one side and another tram line at the rear of the produce market.
