It can be frustrating when your ex suddenly comes back into your life, sending you text messages, wanting to reconnect, or regretting leaving you, right as you are moving on.

Why does this happen?

Well rather than give you some sort of "fortune cookie" advice about "we all want what we can't have" or some nonsense, that is going to do nothing more than turn you into a cynical person, I want to share with you what is really going on in situations like this.

And what is going on, is that your energy is changing.

Often when we are first going through a breakup, we are operating from a mindset of Damage Control Mode. And this kind of energetic way of being can really repel your ex because it comes with an ulterior motive and a lack of understanding or empathy to what your ex is feeling and experiencing.

Another reason, is that some time has passed and your ex has started to open up to seeing you in a new way since they are no longer clouded by the emotions from the breakup. Perhaps they are even starting to miss you.
