RIP ASRock Z77 OC Formula — Hello ASUS Maximus V Extreme: Overview & Main Features

So it seems that my very long served Asrock Z77 OC Formula motherboard is now completely dead, I thought about getting something else to replace it. It seems that the OCF is a very fragile motherboard model, so I thought about trying either the Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 or the ASUS Maximus V Extreme. I chose Maximus 5 Extreme, as it seems to be better for memory overclocking, and it was available at our local tech forum.

I also got a brand-new 3770K to play with, as my old one suddenly died after the record LN2 session, like during heating up so not during the actual testing. Not sure if the Z77 OC Formula had anything to do with the CPU's death but who knows. The CPU is delidded, but I think that nowadays it is a good move with the current thermal paste options we have on the market, and with all the knowledge accumulated since Z170 days when it comes to delidded CPUs and full pot temperatures.

The first part of the video contains about my own thoughts about Z77 overclocking, why I chose this particular motherboard and my opinions about Ivy Bridge delidding for extreme overclocking. The second part contains the actual unboxing or well mostly overview of the motherboard itself, and I just go through the main features briefly, especially from overclocking point of view.
