1485 earthquakes per day, due to magma flows from the Fagradalsfjall volcano, Iceland.

Iceland is experiencing a seismic swarm; 1,485 earthquakes occurred in the country in one day. Residents are preparing for a massive eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano. Most of the tremors were felt on the Reykjanes Peninsula in the southwest of the country. Local residents felt strong shaking as well as loud banging noises. And more than 3,000 residents were evacuated from the city of Grindavik. The strongest earthquake had a magnitude of 5.1. The shaking is constant due to the accumulation of volcanic magma 5 km (3 miles) underground. Authorities have declared a state of emergency. The earthquakes may become more significant and this series of events could lead to an eruption.
