Pastry Tanghulu

Don't be afraid of tanghulu. We are going to tanghulu everything. Toss any challenge you'd like...we've tackled fruit, now we've defeated pastry. This is easy, homemade tanghulu. Many people see it and love it, but they don't know how to make this tasty snack. It's such a delicious treat, and while it might be sugary (and your dentist may not be too happy, as I know from personal experience), it's fun. So let's answer the question. Pastry: does it tanghulu?

I ran all across Boston to get the baked goods from a variety of places. The crazy ones are from https://jonquilscafe.com, a local Boston spot. Super cool, and I felt bad dipping those but they turned out incredible. I'll add the recipe for tanghulu below!

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
wooden skewers

1. Combine sugar and water over medium-high heat and don't stir.
2. Allow to heat to 300 F or about 150 C, then turn off heat and dip your fruits or other food into the liquid.
3. Immediately plunge into a cold water bath to harden the sugar and enjoy!
4. To clean your pan, add water and boil over high heat. Repeat once or twice and your sugar will dissolve from the edges of your pan! DO NOT try to scrape it off.
