Gamescom 2013 is shaping up to be pretty important. It's Sony's and Microsoft's last chance to wow western gamers before launching their new consoles later this year. We give you five good reasons why YOU should get hyped for Gamescom 2013.

5. PS Vita finally getting some love

Sony has said to reveal a lot of new games for the PS Vita at Gamescom. The little handheld can certainly use a big push as it's not doing so hot at the moment. There are even rumours that Sony will announce a price cut for the PS Vita during their conference. One can only hope.

4. Sony vs. Microsoft round 2

Microsoft got their teeth kicked in by Sony at this year's E3. But will the Americans be able to win back some lost fans at Gamescom? We have no idea, but we can't wait to see round two of this epic battle between two giants!

3. Blizzard special announcement

Blizzard Entertainment will make a "special announcement" during its Gamescom press conference. It's most likely an expansion for Diablo 3 but who knows, it could be a first glimpse of their brand new MMO project Titan.

2. Loads of unannounced games

Few things are more exciting than the reveal of a brand new game. And it looks like Gamescom is going to deliver. Both Sony and Microsoft will be revealing exclusives for their new consoles and big publishers also have said to reveal some unannounced games at the German trade show.

1. First opportunity to play PS4 and Xbox One

Gamescom 2013 is the first time gamers will be able to get their hands on the Xbox One and PS4. The lines on the show floor are going to be huge but good things come to those who wait. Don't you want to be one the first people in the world to have played a next gen system?
