The Misguided War on Drugs: A Conversation with Professor David Nutt
In the first event of The Lafayette Club's 2021 Online Lecture Series, we invite Professor David Nutt DM, FRCP, FRCPSYCH, FSB, FMEDSCI for a conversation on drug policy in the UK.
Prof Nutt is the Edmond J. Safra Professor of Neuropsychopharmacology and Director of the Neuropsychopharmacology Unit in the Division of Brain Sciences, both at Imperial College London. Previously, he served as Chair of the Advisory Committee on the Misuse of Drugs. He is currently Chair of DrugScience, a UK-based drugs advisory committee which strives to provide clear, evidence-based drug information without political or commercial interference.
He has authored several books, including Drugs Without the Hot Air: Making Sense of Legal and Illegal Drugs, the first edition of which won the Transmission Prize for the Communication of Ideas 2014.
