A Misogynistic Justice System: In Conversation with Harriet Wistrich
In this instalment of The Lafayette Club's Online Lecture Series, we talk to Harriet Wistrich.
Harriet Wistrich is a solicitor of 25 years and has acted in many high-profile cases around violence against women including on behalf of women appealing murder convictions for killing abusive partners. She is a founding member of Justice for Women and the founder and director of the Centre for Women’s Justice, whose mission is “To hold the state to account and challenge discrimination in the justice system around male violence against women and girls”. She has received several honours in the legal field, including the Liberty Human Rights Lawyer of the Year award 2014.
