Miko Marks on Her Connection to Loretta Lynn
A Flint, Michigan, native, Miko Marks learned about country music from her Mississippi-born grandmother and fighting for equality from her mother. Earlier this year, she visited the Museum for a special “Songwriter Session.” In this clip from the program, Marks discusses her upbringing, how it has influenced her career, and what it means to be included in the exhibition "American Currents: State of the Music" alongside one of her idols, Country Music Hall of Fame member Loretta Lynn.
