Magna Res est Amor, for Voice & Orchestra (or organ), written in 1919.

Hendrik Andriessen was a Dutch composer and organist. He is remembered most of all for his improvisation at the organ and for the renewal of Catholic liturgical music in the Netherlands. His earliest works were spiritual songs with organ or orchestral accompaniment, often with texts by Thomas a Kempis, of which the "Magna Res est Amor" is a good example. He was influenced by César Franck's organ music, which one can hear in the frequent modulations. Hendrik was the brother of pianist-composer Willem Andriessen, and the father of the composers Jurriaan Andriessen and Louis Andriessen.
