Stone tiles at Mohrenstrasse station - from Hitler's office? - Historic Berlin

HISTORIC BERLIN (historicberlin.com: THE long held belief that a major underground station in Berlin was decorated with red marble taken from the ruins of Hitler’s Reich Chancellery in the late 1940s appear to have been debunked.

The regal, dignified and graceful red marble which adorns the walls of Mohrenstrasse station are long rumoured to have been salvaged from Hitler’s office, which stood above the station.

In 1938, Hitler officially assigned his favourite architect Albert Speer to build the New Reich Chancellery – which remained his official residence and office in Berlin from 1939 – 1945.
